Play hard. Network harder.
Two hours of padel, coaching on hand, then breakfast and business networking after. Every Friday, 8-10am, at Bristol's biggest indoor padel club.
What happens on a Friday
Friday starts at 8am.
You'll play for two hours, rotating through games with different people so you're not stuck playing the same level all morning. There's a coach on court too, so if you want a few tips, you can get them as you play.
And if you've never played before, that's completely fine. Plenty of people turn up having never picked up a racket.
Afterwards, we grab breakfast and a complimentary coffee in the café after.
No awkward networking exercises. No standing around handing out business cards. Just a bunch of people chatting, getting to know each other and seeing where the conversation goes.
It's usually founders, freelancers, tradespeople, agency owners and people working in Bristol businesses.
Come for the padel. Stay for the breakfast. See who you end up meeting.
How a Friday works
Never played? Half the group hadn't either. Here's the morning, start to finish.
- 01
Arrive
Turn up at Rocket Padel Bristol for 8am and say hello. Rackets are provided, and James, Yinka and Beth are usually the ones handing them out.
- 02
Get matched
You're mixed in with other players so the games stay close, whatever your level.
- 03
Play
Two hours of padel, 8 to 10. A coach is on court the whole time if you want pointers.
- 04
Breakfast
Head to the café at the venue for breakfast, which is included, and a proper catch up.
- 05
Network
This is where most of the actual networking happens: over coffee, not over a spreadsheet.
Run by James, Yinka and Beth
James keeps the WhatsApp group running and reviews every request to join personally. Yinka sorts the pairing and coaching on the day. Beth, from 299 Lighting, helps run the Friday sessions too. Say hello on your first Friday, they're usually the ones handing out rackets.
