This one sits outside our usual Friday morning slot. Padel Social is a one-off Americano tournament on Friday 18th September, 3–5pm, at Rocket Padel Bristol. Same venue, same day, just a different time, and open to every ability.
An Americano is the friendliest tournament format padel has. Instead of sticking with one partner all afternoon, you rotate partners and opponents every round, and your own points carry across the whole event rather than your team's. It means you play with and against most of the room over the two hours, nobody's stuck carrying or being carried by the same partner all day, and a complete beginner can have just as good an afternoon as a regular. It's exactly the same all-abilities spirit as our Friday sessions, just in a shorter, more competitive burst.
There's a proper prize table too: a 24-can mixed beer case, a merch pack with a 4-can gift pack, and a run of additional prizes handed out after the games. Every player gets a free beer from Lost and Grounded, the Bristol brewery behind the afternoon, on the day. On top of that, Lost and Grounded are throwing in a brewery visit with optional tours, a complimentary drink once you're there, and an exclusive discount on anything else you fancy.
